Reaction Time Test

Wait for green, then tap as fast as you can. Five rounds, one average.

How to play

  1. Tap the box to start. It turns red — wait.
  2. When it turns green, tap or click immediately.
  3. Tapping too early counts as a false start. Your average over five rounds is your score.

Questions

What is a good reaction time?

Most people average between 200 and 300 milliseconds on a computer. Under 200 ms is excellent. Phones add a little delay from the touchscreen, so phone scores are often 20–40 ms slower.

How can I improve my reaction time?

Sleep well, stay hydrated, and practise in short sessions. Using a wired mouse and a fast-refresh screen also lowers measured delay.
